The Dream Fight between Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao
After Manny Pacquiao bounced back from his devastating KO loss with a big win over Brandon Rios, interest for a Pacquiao/ Mayweather fight has resurfaced. Not too long ago, before Manny lost a controversial decision loss to Timothy Bradley and before a vicious KO loss to Juan Manual Marquez, fight fans debated who would win between the two best pound for pound fighters in the world. At the time both fighters were in their prime, beating multiple champions in multiple weightclasses and both seemed unbeatable. They both share victories over Juan Manual Marquez, Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, and Oscar De La Hoya who are all future Hall Of Famers.

Manny proves he's still boxing's elite by dominating Bam Bam
Manny Pacquiao |
After Saturday night’s dominant
win over Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios in Macau, China, Manny Pacquiao has proven he is still
among boxing’s elite. Manny’s last fight almost a year ago, was a brutal 1punch knockout, by the right hand of Juan Manuel Marquez in their 4th
fight together. The knockout he suffered, are the type of knockouts that change
a fighter; change their aggressiveness in the ring, change their ability to
absorb punishment and change a fighter’s confidence all together. Not all these
question marks were answered because it wasn’t a close fight, but Manny beat a
good, tough, durable fighter very convincingly.

Why Championship Boxing Isn't What It Used To Be
Sergio Martinez |
With over 17 weightclasses and 4 sanctioning
bodies awarding world champions in each, there are currently 68 world champions
in boxing today. A champion by
definition is one that comes in first place in competition, who has surpassed
all rivals. With four world champions per weightclass, do these champions
define the true meaning? Are both teams that compete in the Superbowl, world
champions? Does the World Cup award more than 1 world champion? The answer to
these questions are no. A world champion is a competitor that has beaten the
best, to be declared the best. To be champion in any sport it takes dedication,
and superior skill and it is a prestigious honor to earn a championship. To
declare 4 world champions per weightclass, cheapens the value of the word “champion”
in boxing.

Reigning light welterweight champ Danny Garcia should fight....
Danny Garcia landing a right hand |
Even
though Danny Garcia was the reigning light welterweight champ when defending his
title, he was still viewed as the underdog. As expected Lucas came charging at
Garcia throwing bombs like a mad terrorist, but Garcia stayed calm, took some
hard shots well and weathered the storm. As the middle rounds approached,
Lucas’ shots lost a little mustard and Garcia picked up his worked rate
unleashing hard effective combinations on Matthysse. Garcia won the championship rounds, including
an 11th round knockdown which secured his unanimous decision win.
After beating a hard charging Lucas Matthysse to defend his title, many fans
are debating who Danny should face next.

Hopkins headlines upcoming fightcard this Saturday!
This Saturday, October 26th, on the Hopkins vs. Murat undercard, WBO middleweight champ Peter Quillin will be defending his championship against Gabriel Rosado. Expect this fight to be more competitive and exciting than the main event. Quillin is a young fighter on the rise, his resume includes wins over an over-the-hill Winky Wright, The Contender star Jesse Brinkley, and most recently defended his belt by knocking out the undefeated Fernando Guerrero.
This is Gabriel Rosado's second fight at middleweight. His
first fight at middleweight was against Golovkin, and he got dominated than
stopped in the 7th round. Rosado's biggest wins are his stoppages of Powell and
the always tough Soto-Karass.
Quillin has the speed, power advantage and has the better
resume. Rosado is the underdog, and he deserves to be. Don't count Rosado out
though, he does have knockout power and he has a lot of heart and anything
could happen!
Prediction: Quillin will punish Rosado through 7 rounds
before scoring the TKO. This win will set up a big fight for Quillin in a
loaded middleweight division. Some possible future opponents for Quillin
include; Golovkin, Stevens or Martinez.

Miguel Cotto: Boxing legend that did it the hard way
Miguel Cotto is a throwback fighter. He stalks opponents aggressively but intelligently, like a wolf hunting its prey displaying power, speed and skill. Don't get it twisted though, Cotto is a brawler by nature but he is not a 1-dimensional fighter. Miguel has proven to change his game plan from fight to fight and mid-fight, from fighting from the inside to boxing on the outside. Cotto has fought the best fighters of his era, a list that includes Judah, Mosley, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Margarito, and Malignaggi. The following are a few fights that really cemented his legacy.

The Future of Boxing
Adrien " The Problem" Broner
He's young, he's arrogant, and he got talent! Adrien Broner has been a problem for all 27 of his opponents, knocking out 22 of them. At only 24 years old, Broner is a 3-time world Champion in 3 divisions. Adrian has lightning quick hands, punching power, and an aggressive crowd pleasing style. His last fight he jumped 2 weightclasses to beat welterweight champ Paulie Malignaggi. Not only does Adrian win in impressive fashion, his post-fight interviews are very popular too. Adrian has often been compared to a young Floyd Mayweather with his fast hands and big mouth, only time will tell if those comparisons will continue throughout his career.

THE BIGGE$T FIGHT IN HISTORY: CONCLUSION
The One
On Saturday, September 14, 2013, Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fought in front of a sold out crowd in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Walking into the ring with an entourage that included Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne, Floyd built even more hype to this already super hyped up event. In 12 beautifully fought rounds, Mayweather fought circles around Canelo for the controversial majority desicion win. The win was controversial because one of the judges C.J Ross scored the fight a draw, but most fans as well as the other judges saw Floyd consistently win every round. Maybe for argument sake, one can say Canelo won a round or two, but only because a round or two might have been close, but Floyd was the clear cut winner. Take nothing away from Canelo, he fought like a warrior, and still has many convinced that he is the future of boxing.
