Miguel Cotto: Boxing legend that did it the hard way

Miguel Cotto is a throwback fighter. He stalks opponents aggressively but intelligently, like a wolf hunting its prey displaying power, speed and skill. Don't get it twisted though, Cotto is a brawler by nature but he is not a 1-dimensional fighter. Miguel has proven to change his game plan from fight to fight and mid-fight, from fighting from the inside to boxing on the outside. Cotto has fought the best fighters of his era, a list that includes Judah, Mosley, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Margarito, and Malignaggi. The following are a few fights that really cemented his legacy.

In June 2007,  Cotto took on the always dangerous Zab"Super" Judah in Madison Square Garden. Zab landed some big shots early, but Cotto weathered the storm and stalked Judah like he stole something from him. Cotto broke Judah's will with punishing body work, and his constant pressure. Miguel eventually stopped Zab in the 11th round.

Cotto vs. Mosley



Five months later, Miguel Cotto took on Shane Mosley to defend his welterweight title in Madison Square Garden once again. At this point in Cotto's career, this was his biggest fight to date. Mosley a was a  hot fighter, coming off of big wins over Fernando Vargas and Luis Collazo. Cotto and Mosley did not disappoint, they engaged in an epic war over 12 rounds in a close match where Cotto came up on top.

Miguel Cotto fought a lot of tough fighters in his soon to be hall of fame career. He didn't back down from anybody like a true warrior. From winning his first world title in the light welterweight division in 2003 or avenging his first loss to Antonio Margarito, there are many fights that are very memorable to fight fans.
