The Dream Fight between Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao

After Manny Pacquiao bounced back from his devastating KO loss with a big win over Brandon Rios, interest for a Pacquiao/ Mayweather fight has resurfaced. Not too long ago, before Manny lost a controversial decision loss to Timothy Bradley and before a vicious KO loss to Juan Manual Marquez, fight fans debated who would win between the two best pound for pound fighters in the world. At the time both fighters were in their prime, beating multiple champions in multiple weightclasses and both seemed unbeatable. They both share victories over Juan Manual Marquez, Ricky Hatton, Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, and Oscar De La Hoya who are all future Hall Of Famers.

Manny proves he's still boxing's elite by dominating Bam Bam

Manny  Pacquiao
After Saturday night’s dominant win over Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios in Macau, China, Manny Pacquiao has proven he is still among boxing’s elite. Manny’s last fight almost a year ago, was a brutal 1punch knockout, by the right hand of Juan Manuel Marquez in their 4th fight together. The knockout he suffered, are the type of knockouts that change a fighter; change their aggressiveness in the ring, change their ability to absorb punishment and change a fighter’s confidence all together. Not all these question marks were answered because it wasn’t a close fight, but Manny beat a good, tough, durable fighter very convincingly.

Why Championship Boxing Isn't What It Used To Be

Sergio Martinez
With over 17 weightclasses and 4 sanctioning bodies awarding world champions in each, there are currently 68 world champions in boxing today.  A champion by definition is one that comes in first place in competition, who has surpassed all rivals. With four world champions per weightclass, do these champions define the true meaning? Are both teams that compete in the Superbowl, world champions? Does the World Cup award more than 1 world champion? The answer to these questions are no. A world champion is a competitor that has beaten the best, to be declared the best. To be champion in any sport it takes dedication, and superior skill and it is a prestigious honor to earn a championship. To declare 4 world champions per weightclass, cheapens the value of the word “champion” in boxing.

Reigning light welterweight champ Danny Garcia should fight....

Danny Garcia landing a right hand

Even though Danny Garcia was the reigning light welterweight champ when defending his title, he was still viewed as the underdog. As expected Lucas came charging at Garcia throwing bombs like a mad terrorist, but Garcia stayed calm, took some hard shots well and weathered the storm. As the middle rounds approached, Lucas’ shots lost a little mustard and Garcia picked up his worked rate unleashing hard effective combinations on Matthysse.  Garcia won the championship rounds, including an 11th round knockdown which secured his unanimous decision win. After beating a hard charging Lucas Matthysse to defend his title, many fans are debating who Danny should face next.
